The magician displays a steel triangle. In full view and faster than the eye can follow. It changes shape to form a steel circle, but that is not all… as it instantly changes again into a steel square! A tri-squircle perhaps? A paradox which illustrates perfectly a classical problem of mathematics appearing in geometry. The problem is to construct a square with the same area as a circle. This problem has spawned not an expression: “Search the squaring of the circle” which means “Trying to solve an insoluble problem.”
